Recovery…

Well, it’s now 2008 and the Kentucky weather has been a little bi-polar in the last month or so… breaking the record highs one week, devastating tornados – then plummeting to ice, snow and record lows. Even in the last 24 hours… ~68 day before yesterday and now snow is falling outside. It does crazy things to those of us who get migraines. So to those of you who get them – I share your pain.
I know I seemed to fall off the radar for a little while after Christmas, and the reason for that was surgery. We had a great Christmas and a wonderful show in Ashland just before settling in for several days with family. Then, on the 27th I went in for surgery on my hand. That made playing guitar a bit difficult through the month of January and some of February. It’s not easy to type with one hand either… ok, not easy for me anyway. However, things are healing and I’m thankful to be playing again. I’m working on a schedule and some dates for the coming months. So, send in some booking requests and keep checking back or sign up on the email list and we’ll let you know about them. It’s good to be back. Recovery requires patience and intentionality. I saw that with the physical therapy I went through. Of course I think we could all use some sort of recovery from various things in our lives. But, we can’t do it alone. I learned recently that self can’t help self. We have to surrender. Why does something so simple as letting go of something seem so difficult?
DID YOU KNOW? When a person gets 5 hours of sleep for 5 days they drive more dangerously than someone who is legally drunk?! On that note, I think I’m on day 4 and it’s going to be a late night again… So for the safety of us all… g’night!
It’s great to hear you’re recovering – from the surgery and life in general. You’re right when you say “…we could all use some sort of recovery from various things in our lives.” And true recovery only comes when we surrender to Him. Surrender seems difficult but is so easy once we do it. I’d forgotten that! Thank you for that reminder.

Hi Girlie. Sorry I’ve been MIA lately. Have had extra busy days at work and am recovering myself from some large projects. I’m glad your recovery is going as well as can be expected, but you need to get more sleep, girl!
We’re watching the UK game as I sit here and write. Missing KY a little (but not missing that weather you talk about). We’ll have to talk more soon.
