This Fall has been full of traveling and busyness. Sunshine in Florida and Georgia, mountains of Tennessee, hills of Kentucky, and the flat plains of Ohio. We met so many people along the way! But thankfully as I look back through the pictures I’m reminded of all the moments of rest and wonder I was blessed with at each place too. I’m one of those people who need those moments, as much as I need air and water, just to clear my mind and reorganize my thoughts. As I think about the time we spent in Florida at the edge of the ocean (aka beach) it makes me think of changes. The tide comes in and goes back out… even the sand beneath your feet gives way with the waves… The ground shifts… And all through nature we see changes and seasons. Throughout the last few months I’ve seen quite a few of them – changes in schedule, routine, projects, relationships… even changes in myself. Rewind just a year and it’s even more obvious. Those of you who know me remember that just a year ago I left a full time job and all the “security” of this world that came with it. While it was a great job and I met some wonderful people there I knew it was time to step out of it. For the previous year I had felt and sensed a growing unrest churning inside… and it had become so loud inside me that I knew… I’m wired for something else. My life and my day to day had to change for me to flourish. I had to get to a place where I could focus on music and what I’ve been wired to do and called to do. God will take care of the rest of it. As opposed to the popular belief of many church-goers today, He doesn’t promise easy living – no matter what your income, job security, or day to day looks like. I would rather be doing what I love to do and am called to do instead of what the world considers a responsible “grown-up” job. Maybe that’s the youngest child of the family coming out in me a little too. Changes in schedule, routine, relationships, myself… We’re all in the process of becoming… So enjoy the changes in your life and live it with no regrets.

CD Project Update

One more big change has been recording a new CD in Nashville… Actually in Franklin TN. The first two songs are done now and many people have asked me when the whole project will be finished. It’s hard to say though. I’m taking it slow and waiting for the finances to build back up before we work on the next few songs. The whole experience is one that is teaching and growing me a lot as a songwriter and artist. Stay tuned for updates…
